Random Acts of Kindness in the New Occasions Mini

Hi Everyone.  It's here, the Occasions Mini Catalogue and it's packed with new framelit and edgelit dies, new stamps, new beautiful designer papers, ruffled ribbons, new baker twine.  I could go on and on and....Click on the catalogue over on left and you will be taken to my on line shopping site where you can download the catalogue or just shop.

I want to share with you a card that I have done for a friend to show her that I am thinking about her.  It's makes one feel good to send out one of these Random Acts of Kindness (also known as RAK) cards.

This card uses the new Mixed Bunch stamp set along with the new Blossom punch and Paper Doily die.

Stamps: Mixed Bunch (c-125537, $26.95, w-125535, $33.95, p. 17, 2012 Occasions Mini), Creative Elements(c-122647, $30.95, w-122645, $40.95, p. 137, 2011-2012 IB&C)
Paper: Naturals White, Cherry Cobbler, Whisper White, Always Artichoke, Paisley Petals DSP
Ink: Cherry Cobbler
Accessories: Big Shot, Lattice Embossing Folder, Paper Doily Die, Punches: Dotted Scallop Ribbon Border, Modern Label Blossom, Versamark, Cherry Cobbler Embossing Powder, Wild Wasabi Embossing Powder

The Paper Doily is partially cut out and the Blossom punch has been used to create a mat for the flower.

To create this mat
  • punch out a piece of card stock using the Blossom punch
  • using scissors, clip each petal apart
  • attach these petals to the back of each of the petals to the flower leaving a slight edge
The flower center was embossed using Wild Wasabi embossing powder and creating contrast with the Always Artichoke.

I needed to make this a mailable card so I used other elements for embellishing the card while still creating contrast.

Well, that's it for this post, so until next time...
