Tangled Up in Creativity September 2011 Challenge

Hi Everyone.  Well, it's the 2nd Monday of the month and time for another Tangled Up in Creativity Blog Group Challenge.

We all like new craft stuff and sometimes the craft supplies that we have had for a while get buried at the back of the shelf never to see the light of day for some time and in some cases never.  We simply forget that we have them.

So, my challenge for you is to make a card using both new and old supplies (something that you find on the .  back of the shelf)

My card is a Christmas card using new products out of the Holiday Mini.  The Stitched Stocking set is so cute and has many possibilities, the mini jingle bells, (how adorable), the Cherry Cobbler Quilted Satin ribbon and finally the DSP, Holly Berry Bouquet.  The forgotten supply is the Champagne Glass Glitter, which I haven't used since last Christmas.  The glitter is fabulous because over time it will tarnish leaving an aged look.  Perfect for all those vintage Christmas decorations.

Stamps: Stitched Stockings (c – 123784 $25.95 $, w – 123782, $33.95 $, 34. 5 Holiday Mini), Petite Pairs (c -122497 $25.95, w – 122495 $35.95, p. 164, 2011-2012 IB&C),

Paper: White Naturals, Chocolate Chip, Cherry Cobbler, Wild Wasabi, Very Vanilla, Holly Berry Bouquet DSP

Ink: Cherry Cobbler, Chocolate Chip

Accessories: Big Shot, Scallop Die, Stocking Builder Punch, Word Window Punch, Modern Label  Punch, Dazzling Diamonds, Champagne Glass Glitter, Espresso Baker’s Twine, Mini Jingle Bells, Cherry Cobbler Quilted Satin Ribbon

And the great thing, I have one Christmas card done.

I hope you enjoy the challenge and until next time.....

Happy Mother's Day

Happy Mother's Day to everyone:  I always consider Mothers to be a caring group and therefore anyone who cares for someone or something should be celebrating today.

Last night my family celebrated Mother's Day at my daughter's home.  We had  barbeque salmon along with all the goodies that you have at a BBQ.  My son made the dessert, Dirt (and worms for the kids) which everyone just loves.

This card is also for the TUIC challenge hosted by Kelly.  The challenge is to use flowers and purple.

Stamps: Fabulous Florets (c – 123027, $21.95, w – 123025, $28.95 Occasions Mini p 22), Teeny Tiny Wishes (w – 115370, IB&C p. 157)
Paper:  Natural White, Whisper White, Concord Grape, Pear Pizzazz, In Colours DSP (Hostess Level 1)
Ink: Concord Grape, Crumb Cake, Peach Parfait
Accessories: Dazzling Diamonds, 2-way glue, Blossoms Petal Punch, Doily Triple Layer Punch (NEW – Occasions Mini), Pear Pizzazz ribbon

I added a bit of dazzle with Dazzling Diamonds in the center of each flower.  The flowers were cut out with the great Paper Snips (these are great for getting into tight corners) and then popped up with dimensionals.

I hope the sun is shinning where you are.  It's trying very hard to shine here today....Believe or not about 30 miles from here they had snow....I guess we have a new season "Sprinter".

Enjoy your day and until next time...

Happy Good Friday

Hi Everyone:  It's Good Friday and the sun is shining, albeit, still a bit chilly but at least there are blue skys out my windows.  Yesterday morning, we had a great deal of snow on the hills, however, it was gone by the afternoon.  Good Friday is a stat holiday in Canada, so there will be many travelers on the road this weekend as this is the first holiday we have had since January 1st.  - a very long haul.  If you are on the road travelling to visit family and friends, please drive carefully.

This card is also for the Tangled Up In Creativity challenge being hosted by Heather at Stamping Mommy.

I am sharing another sneak peek for you today.  The stamp and DSP are from the new Summer Mini Catalogue and these items will be available May 1, 2011.  However, don't ignore the Occasions Mini as you can still purchase wonderful products from this catalogue until April 30th.  Visit my website HERE or send me an EMAIL

Tangled Up in Creativity March Challenge

Happy Sunday everyone and I hope you are enjoying it.  I just returned from the ski hill where I watched my grand children's last skiing day.  The resort is closing down for the winter.  Spring Break is over and soccer starts.

It did snow up there today but there are a few bare spots and now that the weather is turning nice in the valley, one forgets that there is still snow on the mountains.

The card I am sharing today is the monthly Tangled Up in Creativity March challenge.  Dawn over at Sunnyside Up is hosting this month.  The theme is "March comes in like a lion and goes out like a lamb" or vice versa depending on what the weather was like March 1st.  We also have to do something with the ribbon.

I picked the Robin who is a good indication that Spring is on its way.  The weather for us at the beginning of March was like the lion and we can only hope that it goes out like a lamb.

Stamps: Nature Walk (c – 121997 $22.95, w – 121925 - $31.95 Occasion Mini p 27, Fabulous Phrases(c - 12051 $32.95, w – 117002 $46.95 p 149 IB&C)
Paper:  Whisper White, Chocolate Chip, Always Artichoke, Early Espresso, Marina Mist
Ink: Chocolate Chip, Early Espresso
Accessories: Big Shot, Elegant Lines Embossing Folder, Crumb Cake Seam Binding Ribbon, Spritzer, Chocolate Chip Marker, Victoria Crochet Trim, Pearls, Versa Mark

It's difficult to see, but the Early Espresso was stamped with the floral image from Nature Walk using Versa Mark.  This stamp set has really grown on me over the past month and have found myself going to quite frequently.

This stamp set is still available until April 30th so don't delay.

Hope the sun is shining where you are.  So until next time....

Tangled Up in Creativity Challenge

Hi Everyone and welcome to Friday.  My post tonight is short and sweet as I want to share my project for the Tangled Up in Creativity Challenge.

Christy from Lone Pines Design challenged us to alter a notebook and add a touch of Spring.  We all know how much we want Spring to be here.

This is my project and I took it with me last weekend to the Stampin' Up! Regional meeting held in Vancouver at the Canada Place Convention Center.  I wanted a book to write notes and ideas that were presented during the sessions.  And what a great time we all had, of course, except for the snow.

Vancouver never really has any snow during the winter (we saw that last year for the Olympics, when we wanted snow lol).  Then on Sunday, we had to drive home over a mountain route to get to Kamloops.  What would normally take 4 hours took us 6 hours as the drive was pretty slow.  Every once in a while, the highway would be closed so that they could get the trucks out to sand and plow the snow.  Going up one hill looked like a parking lot as the big rigs were pulled over to the side, cars were slipping and sliding (probably no snow tires, like duh, you're in the middle of the mountains).  Any how we made it safe and sound.  Thanks to Kendra for driving home in the snow.
I will share photos of the event in a later post.

Now on to my project

Paper:  Sweet Pea DSP
Ink:
Accessories: Vintage Type Rub-ons

Well that's it for me today.  Enjoy your evening and until next time...
