The Christmas Poinsettia originated in Mexico and Central America and is well known for its appearance in Christmas floral displays.
Although we are most familiar with the red poinsettia, they now come in various colours from white, to pink, to orange, to variegated colours.
Joel Roberts Poinsett, the first United States Minister to Mexico, introduced the plant into the United States in 1825.

The vellum provides a contrast to the Cherry Cobbler and makes the image appear to be like stained glass.
So that the adhesive does not show through on the vellum, put the adhesive somewhere inconspicuous. On this card, the pearls hide the adhesive.
