Just Believe Birthday Card

How do you decide which colours to use? Today, I used the Stampin' Up!'s Color Coach for inspiration.

I knew I wanted to used Wisteria Wonder and the Color Coach suggested Cherry Cobbler and Pink Pirouette for the other 2 colours.  To me it's an usual color combination and it worked for me.

Besides I wanted to use up some of my DSP that I have been hoarding for a year....when do I learn?

How many of us do this with so many things.  We put them away to use for company or for some special occasion.

If you got it, use it.  What are you saving it for? Use it or lose it...and there are many more.

Stamps: Just Believe – (c – 120459 $31.95 w – 116948, $41.95 p. 109 2011-2012 IB&C), Happiest Birthday Wishes Hostess(c – 122617, w – 122615, p. 5 2011-2012 IB&C)
Paper: Naturals White, Wisteria Wonder, Pink Pirouette, Whisper White, Flirtatious DSP, Regals DSP Stack (Cherry Cobbler)
Ink: Cherry Cobbler, Wisteria Wonder, Peach Parfait, Pink Pirouette
Accessories: Versamark, Cherry Cobbler Embossing Powder, Cherry Cobbler 1/2” Scallop Dots Ribbon, Pearls

I used some more of the Flirtatious DSP by creating a matching envelope using the Simply Scored Diagonal Tool.

After the image was embossed the Whisper White card stock was sponged with various colours to create a focal art piece.   - Emboss Resist technique.  After sponging the colours , the embossed image was wiped off with a soft cloth.

Don't forget the Retirement Lists are now available...There are some great bargains.

It's So Good to Be Home

Hi Everyone, As much as my trip was fabulous, it is so good to be home and sleep in my own bed.  Yesterday and today it's about the piles of laundry and then it will be the pile of ironing (yes, I hear some of you gasp) but there are somethings that I maintain.  Ok, I don't iron sheets and towels, there is a limit LOL

It's been awhile since a posted a card and I am getting itchy fingers to be back in my stamping room but first things first.  At least I could start with posting a card that I did last month.

This card is a sympathy card for one of my Stampin' Up! ladies who lost her farther and her uncle on the same day and in 2 separate locations.  How tragic for her! It's bad enough to loose 1 person you love let alone 2 you love.

April with Spring Showers

Hi Everyone:  I hope you are having a fantastic Sunday.  I am, even got some things done that I have been putting off.  Yesterday, I had all three of my grandchildren for the afternoon...they had fun and so did I.  There was a high level of energy and of course the usual "he said, she said" thing.  All in all it was a grand day (no pun intended).

If you look on either of the side bars, you will notice that Stampin' Up! is having 2 promotions.  The first one is the Spring is Blooming promotion and you will be able to purchase the stamp and the designer papers once you have a minimum of $25 (not including tax and shipping).  You could also earn these for "FREE" if you have a $460 workshop.  Click on either of the two pictures (or both...just not at the same time..) to get all the details of the promotions.  The second promotion is a GRAB BAG...loaded with goodies.  The prices for these Grab Bags are $6.00, $12.00, and $18.00.  Get one, or two, or 3 before they are gone, gone gone!

The card today is a spring card and the idea came from Carey Payette on the Stampin Connection website.

Hope you enjoy
Stamps: Just Believe (c – 120453 $31.95, w – 116948 - $41.95 IB&C p 109)
Paper:  Whisper White, Baja Breeze, Old Olive, Paisley Petal DSP (NEW)
Ink: Old Olive, Baja Breeze, Crumb Cake
Accessories: Whisper White Organza Ribbon, Marker (Baja Breeze, Old Olive, Crumb Cake) , Stamp-a-ma-jig

The technique used is called the Drop Shadow.  The image is stamped in 2 different ink colours.  Stamp one image, clean the stamp and load up with the next ink.  Place the stamp just a tad over and down.  Vola!

For the sentiment, the stamp was coloured using markers and stamped.  The saying was stamped using Crumb Cake ink and the Stamp-a-ma-jig.

So until next time....

Good morning Everyone and I hope for those who are to change their clocks ahead have done so.  If not, you will be late for any events you have planned to day.

I am very excited about this post and what I am sharing with you today.  I am featuring a sneak peek at a new Designer Series Paper, Paisley Petals and a new stamp, the Four Frames.  Now, I can't show you the products but I can show you how I have used them for my card.  The DSP is beautiful to say the least and has many of the favourite and most used Stampin' Up! colours.

I also used the Just Believe stamp that I have just acquired.  I just love this stamp and have seen so many beautiful cards, that I don't know why it took me so long to get it on my order form.  But, I have it now....Yahoo!

Stamps: Just Believe (c – 120453 $31.95, w – 116948 - $41.95 IB&C p 109, Four Frames (New)

Ink: Old Olive, Tangerine Tango, Soft Suede
Accessories: Whisper White Taffeta Ribbon, Pearls, Big Shot, Butterfly Embosslit Die, Markers, Decorative Label Punch, Stamp-a-ma-jig

The butterfly is sponged in Soft Suede to bring out the design from the embosslit and of course, what card would be complete without some bling...pearls.
